Offpage-Optimization

The OffPage Basics:

The most important part and also the most effective in SEO is the off page optimization and with it the backlinks. Links, so-called backlinks are the alpha and omega in the Off-Page optimization of a website. If you want to rank keywords with strong competition, good backlinks are still the best way to achieve this goal. However, exactly here you can make a lot of mistakes and you have always the risk that Google punishes your website or online shop. This means that your website won`t be found anywhere in Google or the that keywords your ranked disappear to page 20 of Google etc.

It is important to know that according to the webmaster guidelines of Google actually any kind of link generation or link buying is undesirable or prohibited by Google. That’s why you need to know exactly what you are doing. Especially in the beginning this is of course very difficult. For this reason, I recommend just for beginners, to specialize in the keyword analysis and try to rank websites in markets where it does not require any backlinks (Yes this is possible!). In my tutorial videos I will go into detail with it.

Google values these backlinks very strong and measures them according to the Google page rank (PR) and (DA) Domain Authority or (PA) Page Authority. The Google page rank determines the value of a site it is 10 for very good (very few global sites) and 0-1 for a bad rank.

It is important that if you create external links (backlinks), you try to only create strong ones with high Page Rank, DA and PA.

It is also important that while creating links somewhere on the internet you put them where it makes sense. We take the example of cartips.com. If I put a link to a forum for IT technology, (which makes no sense), because the Forum has specialized in IT technology and not on car advice this is not good SEO. A forum for car lovers or Mercedes Forum would be a better place. One more thing which is very important, you need a healthy ratio of creating backlinks. You should create not more than 10 links to a new website per week, because it is not realistic or normal, at least not at the beginning, that a new website suddenly gets 100 backlinks per day.

NoFollow and DoFollow links.

With a nofollow link no Pagerank is inherited. Nevertheless, it is important to create NoFollow links. More about nofollow links here.

There are countless ways to create some basic backlinks, here are some basics:

Search Engine Submission

Reporting your website to the most popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, Alexa, Alltheweb, Lycos, Excite, etc. in order to get links for free.

Web Directories:

Free web directories are controversial but a good place for backlinks. It is a good way to make your new website public. There are also other web directories which cost money, you can invest a lot of money in directories but in my opinion it is not worth it. There are also free web directories where you can submit, which are also very good. The only things to look for is the Google PageRank which should be at least 2-4, and it should not be a spammy directory (no porn or gambling links). It does not help you, if you create links from low quality web directories with a PR of 0 and create 500 links in this way. Then rather in 10 web directories with a higher PageRank which do not endanger your website and help to rank.

Forum postings

A Forum / online discussion forum. Write or post a discussion in a forum with a link to your page. You can post a link back to your site to good forums (also known as “Do-Follow Forums”) via a signature in your profile, that can be crawled by the search engines. Or you can also post a response to a thread in other service-related existing forums.

Blog Links:

You go on various blogs (keyword related) and write a commentary, with a backlink to your own site.

This method should not be misused. Always only post a few comments.

 Youtube:

A very good method is, for example, to create product videos or publish instructional videos and / or online seminars. You put a link in the description of your video. In this way your video perhaps shows more and more on different platforms, thus the chance is greater that you also get traffic. However Youtube links are NoFollow.

Social Bookmarking

You can write to social bookmarking sites or portals and link the post to your own site. Often the title of the bookmark will be used as a link back to your website.

Link Exchange / Link exchange

You contact pages that have similar content as your website and ask if you get a link to one of your subpages. In return, then you link to their site.

Press Release Promotion

You write a press release, or let it be written and then upload it to an appropriate high press release portal.

Link purchase

You can either contact websites and try to buy a link there, or go to so-called link buying portals. But precisely here exist the greatest risks, as these portals are known and there are more and more cases in which Google punishes link networks. If you buy links, you should always do this under the radar, but I personally would advise against buying links!

Social Media Facebook and Co .:

The mother of all social media platforms is easy to use and can be use in this way to reach thousands of people. Content can be shared here and there in groups etc. and in this way reach users of Facebook worldwide. Again, it is advisable to create related links.

 And so on and etc.

There really are countless ways to create links. However, I stress again that it is important to know how to create links. I generally recommend in the beginning try to rank pages according to Google guidelines without backlinks. This only works if you know how to find niches for SEO and create appropriate content for it etc. I will show you how to do that!
